Sub:Forbiddance of applying GRI and surcharges in Ocean Freight Cost

Respectfully, regarding the announcement and reflection of supervising authorities, some of the foreign shipping companies had applied GRI and surcharges to the ocean freight costs without any reasonable grounds, especially in contracts and final agreements. Therefore, following the follow-ups from supervising authorities and their request to refer the aforementioned companies, especially agencies applying GRI and Surcharges in Iran; we are hereby informed that in the case we receive allegations, claims, or documents indicating the explained activity, we must unfortunately refer the violating company to the Discretionary Punishment Organization. Hence, to consider professional manner and comply with fundamental principles of transportation, it is highly recommended to prevent committing the offense of applying GRI and Surcharges to ocean freight costs alongside reflecting this letter to foreign parties.
